block certain websites using hosts files in windows

there is the requirement of blocking website in company for employees

there are many methods 

1. browser setting but it will allow other browser to run those website

2. use proxy software  but it will be costlier

3. using host file 

i will explain how to block website using host file

1. open  run command using windows + r button

2. type %windir% then press enter

3.  open system32 folder

4. open etc folder

5. open drivers folder

6. right click on host file and click on properties

 

 

 7. make sure readonly is unticked

8. click on security

9. click on edit      

10. click on add

11. click on advanced

12. click on find now

13. find user name of your pc and click ok

14. click on ok

15. select username and then check on full control and then ok

16.and then again ok

17. open host file with notepad

18. go the end line

19. and press enter

20. type 127.0.0.1 website name

21. click on file and then save

22. restart your pc, website will be blocked
